Pro-Ject Turntables Now On Sale

If you miss the classic, visceral sound of vinyl records—you are not alone. According to recent figures cataloged by Nielsen Soundscan, sales of vinyl records hit another modern-era milestone in 2012 with more than 4.5 million units shipped, marking the sixth consecutive yearly increase for the physical format. To celebrate this growing trend, we’re expanding our line of turntables! The Sound Room is now a proud supplier of one of the industry’s most coveted lines: Pro-Ject Turntable from Pro-Ject Audio Systems. Launched in 1991, Pro-Ject Audio Systems has been supplying audiophiles with some of the most innovative turntable technology. The Sound Room will carry the complete Pro-Ject line including, but not limited to, the Dubut Carbon and the Xpression Classic. In addition, we will also carry a full line of accessories to help enhance the overall listening experience. Recently, Allan Haggar, Regional Sales Director, paid a trip to our showroom to conduct a training course around the Pro-Ject Turntable line.  He was extremely impressed with not only our showroom, but the knowledge of our staff. This is what Haggar had to say about his visit: Thank you for your support of Sumiko and Pro-Ject turntables!! It was a real pleasure to visit with you and your staff yesterday. The training was successful I believe, and the staff showed real hospitality and enthusiasm. Their humor was a welcome surprise so early in the morning!! What an energetic and fun group. I was under the impression that turntables and vinyl were new to most of the staff. Then I find out that many of them have record collections of their own,...

The Sound Room Makes CE Pro’s Top 100 List for Eighth Year in a Row

The Sound Room, St. Louis’ premier home technology retailer, announced its eighth year on the CE Pro Top 100 list, which ranks the nation’s top custom integrators. The company was named No. 32, making it the only Missouri-based home technology specialty retailer on the list. CE Pro, a leading electronics trade publication, ranked custom home and audio integrators based upon their 2012 revenue. In that time, The Sound Room generated more than 6 million in revenue, despite slow growth within the industry. “Our dedication to our customers and to high quality products has helped us continue to grow our business,” said David Young, president of The Sound Room. “We offer a level of customer service that can’t be found at your everyday big-box store, providing a one-of-a-kind experience for the customer.” The Sound Room, which started out as a stereo shop in 1983, has evolved into one of the nation’s leading custom integrators, offering a diverse line of products and services such as solar and energy management, home networking, and affordable home automation including security and video surveillance. “We’ve been around for 30 years, and that speaks volumes during a period when many technology retailers have been forced to close their doors.” By accepting new technologies and services, we have been able to strengthen our core, making us less averse to downturns within the economy,” said Young. In 2012, The Sound Room expanded their staff adding 4 member’s to their already advanced team. Aside from growing their staff, The Sound Room has added GoldenEar Technology and Pro-Ject Audio Systems to their stable of premium vendors. About The Sound Room...
