The Ultimate 2014 Holiday Gift Guide- Part 2

Here it is, the much anticipated conclusion of the 2014 Holiday Gift Guide, brought to you by The Sound Room elves themselves. Give us a call or stop by and let us help you cross your loved ones off your holiday shopping list. Gary Luaders: My wife and I just moved into our new home and the only two things my wife really wanted was: To be able to play Christmas music through our whole house audio system. To have a really reliable wireless network At our last house we had a “good” residential wireless network. Not to take anything away from the previous product but it just didn’t have the horsepower to handle all of our wireless devices. With multiple TV’s, Apple TV’s, Ipad’s and wireless music system, it just couldn’t handle the traffic AND give us the performance we wanted. The previous system had two access points and still struggled, with the new Luxul XAP access point we only needed one and it’s THREE TIMES as fast. It handles all the traffic at our new house which is about double the devices than what we had at our old house and does it better, faster and more reliable.  You even set it up from an App on your smart phone in a few minutes! It’s the one device in your house that everyone will appreciate.   Andy Hauck: For those of you looking for the perfect tech gift for a loved one who has everything, check out the offerings from Salamander Design.  These guys make some of the best looking furniture around – from contemporary to traditional –...

The Ultimate 2014 Holiday Gift Guide – Part 1

Do you have that someone on your list that you just don’t know what to get them? We’ve been there before, and we want to help you out! We had each The Sound Room team member choose their ultimate gift pick for 2014 to share with all of you. Here is part 1 of our Ultimate Holiday Gift Guide for 2014. Aaron Blake: If I had to pick one thing for the burgeoning music lover/stereophile, I would have to say the Pro-Ject Debut Carbon USB turntable. This is one of the best sounding turntables under $1,000, it has a phenomenal tone-arm, great cartridge, can play 33’s & 45’s and is unique that it can be plugged into even entry level stereo gear. The unit has a built-in phono pre-amp that not only includes stereo output, but has a USB out as well, so you can record your expensive vinyl into iTunes and keep your tunes in your phone or iPod. I got into this business because of my love of music (and inability to sing a note or play a lick) and it is wonderful to see younger adults discovering the world of vinyl. Jered Nagle: A McIntosh stereo system is my ultimate holiday gift guide pick. It’s the last system you would ever need. I love the flexibility of the Digital pre-amp combined with the warmth and glow of the tube power amplifier. You are guaranteed to make anyone on your shopping list happy with a McIntosh stereo system.     Jim Kuhlmeyer: ‘Listening to music is something that is very important to me, Listening to music the way...
