The Sound Room Makes CE Pro’s Top 100 for 2017 The company ranks No. 31 among the nation’s custom installation companies June 8, 2017: CHESTERFIELD, Mo. – The Sound Room, St. Louis’ premier home technology retailer, announced the company’s spot on the CE Pro Top 100 list, which ranks among the nation’s top custom integrators. The company was named No. 31, and has been on the list for over a decade. CE Pro, a leading electronics trade publication, ranked CE Pro 100 integrators based upon its 2017 revenue. During this period, The Sound Room generated more than $7 million in revenue, despite the closing of many consumer big box electronics retailers. “In our 33 years of business, we’ve seen many big box stores struggle due to their focus of selling boxes,” said David Young, The Sound Room President. “Not only are we expanding our space with the continued growth, but we focus on finding solutions for our customers.” The Sound Room recently hired three new sales representatives from HH Gregg since the stores closing in over 19 states after 60 years of business. The Sound Room started out in 1983 as a stereo shop, but has evolved into one of the nation’s leading custom integrators, offering a diverse line of products and services such as, home networking, energy management and affordable home automation including security and video surveillance. “We’ve been in the business for over 30 years, and with the fall of many big box retailers, we have continued to stay ahead of the latest trends that have made us successful. By embracing change and providing our customers with the...

The Sound Room is Celebrating the Best Holiday: Sgt. Pepper Day!

Did you know that June 1st is Pepper Day? No, not spicy peppers. Not Dr. Pepper. Not the Red Hot Chili Peppers. It was 50 years ago on June 1st, The Beatles released Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band.  In honor of this momentous occasion, Pro-Ject turntables wanted to celebrate and what better way than by creating two Limited Edition Sgt. Pepper themed turntables. We’ve seen these beautiful limited edition turntables and you certainly want to add them to your collection! The Essential III Sgt. Pepper’s Drum is an upgraded version of the Essential III model, which incorporates a low mass one-piece tonearm with sapphire bearings, an Ortofon OM10 and an acrylic platter. It undergoes a unique painting process that gives it an embossed feel and looks stunning. We will have the Essential III Sgt. Pepper’s Drum for sale for $499. The 2Xperience Sgt. Pepper is a VERY limited edition model based on the 2Xperience SB and is equipped with an Ortofon 2M Silver. It includes an EVO 3 Carbon Fiber tonearm, composite platter with integrated mat made from recycled vinyl records for the ultimate record/platter interface and built in SpeedBox. This high end turntable not only looks good, but sounds incredible! We will have it available for $1499 for a limited time! To commemorate the 50th anniversary, Apple Corps gave Giles Martin, the son of Sir George Martin, complete access to the original tapes and encouraged him to do a proper stereo mix while staying faithful to the Beatles’ original vision. In the new Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band Box set, you can hear the original mono...

We are blown away by the tremendous turn out at our Grand Opening Celebration on February 23rd! A big thank you to 400+ people who came out to join us, it was wonderful to see our showroom filled with so many friends, customers, vendors and new faces. In case you weren’t able to stop by, here’s a recap of our Grand Opening Celebration. We started the Grand Opening with a ribbon cutting ceremony with the Chesterfield Chamber of Commerce and Chesterfield Mayor, Bob Nation. We were lucky enough to have one of our staff members and great photographer, Justin Barr, get some fun shots of the store and ribbon cutting from his drone. We had the pleasure of Mark Reardon and KMOX broadcasting their show live from The Sound Room. It was a fun opportunity for us to have Mark and the crew at the store. We had fun talking through the new showroom features and some of our favorite products. The Grand Opening was scheduled to begin at 4pm, but we had people showing up starting at 2pm for a tour of the store and to talk to vendors. Speaking of vendors, we had a great turnout of reps on hand to discuss new products, offer special sales and talk to our customers. Those vendors included Anthem, AudioQuest, Autco-Luxul, Bowers & Wilkins, Bose, Classe, Control 4, Crestron, Epson, Goldenear, Hikvision, Integra, JL Audio, Lutron, McIntosh, Paradigm, Rotel, Salamander, Sanus, Screen Innocations, Seura, Sonance, Sonos, Sony, Stewart, Totem and URC and more. Tales of The Sound Room Employees

Tales of The Sound Room Employees

Every day at The Sound Room is an adventure. We never know who’s going to walk in, what kind of products will be popular and what projects we’ll be asked to complete. We recently sat down with some of our sales team and asked them to share some of their recent client stories and experiences and how The Sound Room was able to assist these customers in a way they would not receive elsewhere. Justin Reeve: I recently had the pleasure of working with a wonderful couple in Chesterfield to design and implement a whole-home audio and video control system with a reference quality media and theater room. They can now listen to music and watch their favorite TV shows throughout the house using simple touch screens and even with their Smart phones, no longer needing to sort through hundreds of CDs and DVDs. No undesired equipment is visible and simply resides in an equipment rack in a basement storage area. The best part about projects like this is seeing the look on our clients faces when they see and hear what is possible with the right equipment. Often times people come to us with an idea of what they want and how they picture it to look. When they realize what we can do for them, and how much better it will be than what they ever imagined, that’s a really great feeling. Seeing the looks on this couple’s face when they were able to experience their new system for the first time is something I will never forget. Rachael Crowell: There was a really nice guy who...
