Builder Technician
Job Description
The Sound Room is looking for dedicated individual’s that have a passion for all things A/V. They must be self-motivated with good communication skills willing to receive and give direction within a team structure, while providing excellent customer service with integrity and attention to detail. EST’s manage the onsite implementation of projects, which include audio/video systems, security systems, networking, 2-channel audio, lighting control and home automation in a variety of homes at different phases of construction. Good mechanical and communicative skills are wanted. You must be able to work off of schematics and architectural drawings. EST’s should have some experience in roughing-in, trimming-out and retrofitting integrated control, A/V and security systems, including system verification, testing and documentation. The successful candidate must be hard working, computer proficient, have a clean driving record and be a real team player.
Key Job Responsibilities:
- Manage individual projects
- Review project scope and task before installation
- Communicate with Field Manager any issues or concerns before and during the installation
- Verify all staged product for a project is sold
- Conduct walk through with customer on site at the beginning of the job
- Document all changes from the original proposal
- Complete test and conduct verification of the system installed
- Provide customer education in use of the systems
- Return excess materials and parts to warehouse
- Complete end of day reports
- Maintain accurate inventory records for the van used by the team
- Maintain proficiency on all products that The Sound Room provides
- Retrofitting wires and speakers in various type of homes
Knowledge-base:
- Networking setup and maintenance
- PCNA Certified
- Cisco Certified
- Control4 Programmer Certified
- Security Systems (DSC, HAI, NAPCO)
- Cedia EST-T Certification
- Avixa CTS-I Certification
- Knowledge of local electrical and building codes in St Louis and surrounding areas
- Installing and calibrating 2-channel audio, home theater sound spaces and 70V systems
